Title: Beyond the current project – building long-term relationships in industry-academia collaboration.
Abstract: This talk will share some experiences from working a decade with Sony Mobile as a research associate and collaborator and other companies. We will discuss the main success factors and issues in establishing a long-term relationship with a company that has changed substantially during the last decade. We will also revisit the current research methods and highlight their main limitations when applied in industrial contexts. Finally, we will look at the technology transfer models and open up for a discussion regarding possible improvements and the most suitable strategies to be applied by researchers working with companies.
